Students in SCRED student programs recently enjoyed fun community events!
The Vision school in Pine City (which also support students from Hinckley-Finlayson and East Central) took a field trip to the Fur Post! Students toured the Ojibwe encampment and reconstructed fur post and learned about culture and life back in 1804 for Indigenous people from the region, voyageurs, and European traders. Students got to sew a pouch to take home and enjoyed learning about the different items that were traded during this time period!
During Fire Prevention Week, the Lindstrom Fire Department visited students in the Pathway to Change and SOAR programs at the Chisago Lakes Education Center to share a presentation about fire safety! 🚒🧯 Thanks to Special Education Teacher Jill Kofler for coordinating!
