We are looking forward to the SCRED Professional Learning experience for 2021-2022 by taking in the “COVID-keeps” from this year and including these enhancements in our trainings that include more virtual, asynchronous, and structured networking opportunities. One of the big changes this next year will be a “What I Need” approach to the Unique Learners’ Conference (ULC), where teachers will have the opportunity to engage in learning and prepare for the school year in alignment with their individualized needs. Take a look at the SCRED August 2021 Catalog and the recently posted SCRED School Year 2021-2022 Catalog online. These catalogs are full of excellent professional learning opportunities. The Pine County Transition Interagency Committee (PCTIC) works to connect transition-age students with disabilities and their families to community resources in order to educate and empower them to strengthen advocacy skills and navigate their life plan. This year our collaboration was an informational session, held virtually, regarding the 218 Trades that focused on construction trades in Northeast Minnesota.

As part of our AT spotlight, please make sure to review the end of school year care and maintenance of assistive technology tools. There are also some great resources from Bookshare, Infinitec Newsletters, and don’t forget AT Networking Nights for 2021-22. Mark your calendars and register for these Assistive Technology Nights for the dates listed below.
