Launch of Major SEL Resources!

We are very excited about this brand new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) website — a collaborative resource shared between SCRED and our member districts! The website is designed to support students, parents, and educators, not only with the current COVID-19 situation, but in the years to come as we continue to work together to implement SEL/behavior MTSS as part of our 2020-25 Strategic Action Plan.

Hosted on the website is a fantastic new resource that we’re excited to offer to our member districts: the Be Good People SEL Curriculum! Over the spring and summer of 2020, our SEL services team (Nic van Oss, Ry Bostrom, and Courtney Strelow) and our Autism Services Coordinator (Raycheal Zamora) have been hard at work creating this resource in order to help our member districts meet all students' needs during this unprecedented time. Molly Gavett, Program Coordinator of the Chisago Lakes Education Center, also provided invaluable assistance and input to the team during the curriculum development process. The Be Good People Curriculum is truly user friendly, features active forms of learning, and was built from the ground up to align with the Minnesota SEL benchmarks. It teaches students how to stay organized, show empathy, manage emotions, use a growth mindset, and many other critical SEL skills!
