New and veteran teachers are navigating behavioral barriers to student learning that are more common and persistent than in years past. Enormous kudos to the leaders and teachers who are leaning into this challenge by collaborating during all-staff behavior workshops. A few highlights:
- Creation of a "gradual release" poster to support communication with students about lesson flow and expectations
- Creation of a menu of "get started strategy" posters inspired by North Branch Area HS Instructional Coach Theresa Anderson
- A teacher shared that "obsessing over the good" with affirmative attention this year has been "transformational" for behaviors in her classroom and also for her own self-care. "I used to notice all the things that were going wrong, and now when I drive home at the end of the day I'm remembering all these good things that happened."
