Michele Anderson—an ADSIS behavior interventionist and special education teacher—at North Branch Area High School does an outstanding job weaving together the School-Connect curriculum and the Top 20 Teens curriculum to provide targeted, effective instruction to her students.
The Top 20 Teens Teacher’s Manual (Grades 7-12) is newly available for teachers to check out from the SCRED Lending Library. It includes 30 lessons, which each include PowerPoint slides and a student handout/worksheet.
School Connect 4.0 is available to Michele because of a generous grant that the PrairieCare Fund awarded to SCRED. It includes over 90 digital lessons, which include handouts/worksheets and hundreds of booster activities.
Michele shares that the two curriculums “work very well in concert together” and she’s able to bolster concepts. She can easily teach a Top 20 Teens lesson and then re-teach similar content using similar lessons and booster activities from School-Connect. This provides the specialized, targeted instruction her at-risk students need to "close the gap" in specific areas. The two curriculums cover critical life skills such as communication and collaboration, conflict resolution, mental health, employability skills, and much more!
